Warranty Information

For a new system

As we take pride in the systems that we deliver for customers, this System Warranty sets out the conditions under which we will resolve problems with any new system, and is in addition to any applicable State or Federal laws.

A twelve (12) month warranty period will apply to any new, complete, computer system assembled, tested (and where software may have been installed) by Tasmanian Principal Computers.

During this time we will resolve any hardware or software problems that may develop, within the context of our usual "Repair" framework (5 working days, subject to component availability) and will, at our sole discretion, replace or repair any component that we may deem as being defective.

Whilst every effort is made to guarantee that systems are virus and Trojan free when they are built for clients, we take no responsibility for how the system may be used (or what software may be loaded onto it) once the system leaves TPC. As a result, virus and trojan problems fall outside this warranty and will be treated as a normal repair, subject to our normal repair criteria and charges.

Not-withstanding this twelve-month "system warranty", we will also honour the manufacturer’s warranty that might apply to any hardware component that makes up one of our systems. Labour charges may fall outside this process, and will be dealt with on a "case-by-case" basis

In all cases where a customer wishes to make a warranty claim it would be helpful if an original receipt or invoice could be produced. If one cannot be produced then it may delay the resolution of a warranty claim (as TPC staff will need to spend time resolving the original purchase details).

We WILL NOT honour this system warranty where it can be shown that a system has been subject to such gross modification (including over-clocking) that it no longer resembles the system we originally delivered, or where the warranty sticker applied to our systems have been removed or tampered with.

In this situation, the only warranty remedies that may apply will be the affected component’s "manufacturer’s warranty" and will be subject to the normal time constraints that apply to the return of defective hardware (ie 3 to 5 weeks for the hardware to be returned to the supplier, to be tested and returned to us, labour charges tobe determined at the time).
